OFFENCES: DO YOU TAKE OR GIVE IT?

Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!- Luke 17: 1

Hello BGBians,

Happy new week and happy new month too! May it be a fulfilling one.

I was just going a note on my phone now so I thought I share it with my readers. I took the note while I was listening to Joyce Meyer sometime back. I love this woman, she is my role model.

Types of Offence

  1. You take offence
Refuse to be offended. Don't take offence even when someone hands it to you. Taking offence is unproductive. It even steals your joy, energy and even health. Guess what! It produces nothing.

  1. Give offence: Think b4 u talk

  1. Get offended by truth

  1. Get offended by trouble

  1. Get Offended by God

  1. Offend the Holy spirit

Points:

Offense keeps us from loving people. We think it’s no big deal but those little things keep us from getting our prayers answered. No other man should be responsible for your happiness.

Your value should not be determined by how somebody else has treated you. Mk 11:22-25

Champions refuse to be offended! E.g. David -when Samuel came to anoint the future King he was not even considered and he dint take offense at that.

Don't ever complain when you are lonely; take it as a time to know God! -ask David

Don't let anybody diminish or minimise you because they feel what u r doing is little.  As far as you are doing the part God wants you to do you are just as good as others!

Covering offences:

Love covers a multitude of sins

Noah: Gen 9:21-23; His drunkenness and nakedness were his shortcoming. One of his sons saw it and told it; while d other two sons did not look but rather covered his nakedness (shortcoming).

We can get blessings from God if we don't tell somebody else about others weakness but rather cover it by praying for them. Just like the other sons that covered their father’s nakedness.

When someone offends you go to d person first and clear the air! Matthew 18:15

People easily offended are selfish, insecure, negative, easy mark for satan, miserable, angry & not free and it hinders God's plan for their lives.

Hope you are able to learn one or two things from this.
