NOW READING: 'THE POWER OF RIGHT BELIEVING' BY JOSEPH PRINCE

The Lord is compassionate and gracious; slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him. - Psalm 103: 8-12

Hello BGBians,

How have you been? Wishing you the best in the rest of the week, month & year.

I just thought I share with my readers from this book I just finished reading today.  It titled ‘The Power of Right Believing’ by Pastor Joseph Prince. He is a pastor based in Singapore whose ministry preaches the grace of God.

I have always been fascinated with him when I started to watch him preach on TBN. His program airs then immediately after Joyce Meyer (my mentor). He takes his times to breakdown the scriptures, give insightful examples and illustrations. Now that I am opportune to read his book I am most glad I bought the book. It has been an eye opener I learnt a lot and saw God in a whole new perspective and even various popular scriptures were seen in a whole new light. It was as if a light was switched on.

Another thing I love about his writing is how through the power of imagination and taking every little detail surrounding a story in the scripture or a verse (as he says no detail is insignificant) he represents same story and you are like ‘Ah-ah’.

I am going to share his own recount of the story of the Samaritan woman Jesus met at the well.

So, what do you think?

This book talks about the grace of God through Christ- the unmerited, unworked for, freely given favour of God. The power to believe right that grace supersedes the law, all your sins past, present and future has been forgiven in Christ when He died. It says that when God sees us he sees the righteousness of Christ and not our righteousness. It tells of how we should not give hold to the devil when we feel incapable after falling into sin, but believe that the work of Christ on the cross has qualified us from all guilt, fears, addictions etc.

God love you no matter what you do, you are doing or will do. Come to HIM.

With love,
Bummiegherit!

OFFENCES: DO YOU TAKE OR GIVE IT?

Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!- Luke 17: 1

Hello BGBians,

Happy new week and happy new month too! May it be a fulfilling one.

I was just going a note on my phone now so I thought I share it with my readers. I took the note while I was listening to Joyce Meyer sometime back. I love this woman, she is my role model.

Types of Offence

  1. You take offence
Refuse to be offended. Don't take offence even when someone hands it to you. Taking offence is unproductive. It even steals your joy, energy and even health. Guess what! It produces nothing.

  1. Give offence: Think b4 u talk

  1. Get offended by truth

  1. Get offended by trouble

  1. Get Offended by God

  1. Offend the Holy spirit

Points:

Offense keeps us from loving people. We think it’s no big deal but those little things keep us from getting our prayers answered. No other man should be responsible for your happiness.

Your value should not be determined by how somebody else has treated you. Mk 11:22-25

Champions refuse to be offended! E.g. David -when Samuel came to anoint the future King he was not even considered and he dint take offense at that.

Don't ever complain when you are lonely; take it as a time to know God! -ask David

Don't let anybody diminish or minimise you because they feel what u r doing is little.  As far as you are doing the part God wants you to do you are just as good as others!

Covering offences:

Love covers a multitude of sins

Noah: Gen 9:21-23; His drunkenness and nakedness were his shortcoming. One of his sons saw it and told it; while d other two sons did not look but rather covered his nakedness (shortcoming).

We can get blessings from God if we don't tell somebody else about others weakness but rather cover it by praying for them. Just like the other sons that covered their father’s nakedness.

When someone offends you go to d person first and clear the air! Matthew 18:15

People easily offended are selfish, insecure, negative, easy mark for satan, miserable, angry & not free and it hinders God's plan for their lives.

Hope you are able to learn one or two things from this.
